New Site Feature: High Resolution Image Overlays

Constant improvement is one of the hallmarks of Harwil’s business philosophy. And when we announced our new website back in May, we were sure to state that the site was, and will always be, a work in progress.

There’s a simple but super-useful feature we’re rolling out over the next few days: High Resolution Image Overlays. What’s that?

Well, you’ll notice on our product pages there are more small image thumbnails, like this:

This screen shot is from our Q5-SS product page. Now, you’ll notice when you hover over any product image, your cursor will turn into a hand icon. When you click the thumbnail, a high resolution image will pop up for you to see the product in greater detail. To close it, all you have to do is click the close button in the upper left hand corner, or just click the zoomed image again and it’ll go away. The high resolution overlay looks like this:

We hope you like this new feature. We’ll keep you updated as we go along. If you have questions or feedback, please comment below!

Sincerely,

The Harwil Team

Welcome to the new Harwil.com

We’ve been hard at work for months completely redesigning and re-organizing our web site, and we’re happy to finally share it with you. We’ve had a few sites in the last decade and a half, and this is our most ambitious one to date.

Our content has been laid out by product family, and our catalog and technical resources have been digitized so you can find the information you’re looking for faster.

But we’re not done yet. We’re continuing to add new features to Harwil.com in order to help you get the most out of our products. Look for more exciting features in the coming weeks and months.

We’d like to take a few minutes, though, to show you around the place and make sure you feel at home.

Streamlined Design

Harwil’s been around for over 50 years, and in that time the technology we use has changed a lot. Looking to the next decade (or half century) we’re making an effort to embrace the web as a tool for reaching our customers. The new Harwil.com has been completely rewritten from the ground up, embracing open, standards compliant, accessible web technologies such as XHTML, CSS3, and PHP. This helps search engines index our content more easily, and helps our site display accurately across multiple devices.
